i initially compared jinshi to roy mustang and i think that still stands, but he’s actually more like howl from howl’s moving castle (book vers). its the “running so far away from your problems that you come full circle back to confronting them” of it all. also, being in love with a girl who looks at you with disgust for being a too-pretty waste of space

i should say, the specific comparison that carries this across the finish line is “creating a false identity to run away from your problems and perpetuating an elaborate ruse using a fake name to avoid your responsibilities”
