Snowberries - I wonder how on Earth they came by their name?

Who can help me identify this spindly friend?

I spent FOUR YEARS searching for these charms again to make fern leaf chokers.

Arrived and.. they're a different size

Don't fit old necklace.. so make new necklace. Very simple one for now.

(I have a whole bunch of ideas for more elaborate/beaded ones, but no time until next year)

Anyone know what plant this is? It's a real fighter, almost died and was all drooped over and has come back with a big show

Is there a climbing plant that is squirrel resistant? We replaced the annual flowering plants with catmint or baby rita, which the rock squirrels don't bother at all.

After nurturing this plant for the last 13 years, (acquired no higher than 30cm, it's now well over 2 metres tall) for the first time ever, it has flowered, producing 7 flowering spikes. This one opened this morning.
Many years ago I saw bird of paradise flowers blooming in the magnificent Kirstenbosch botanical gardens in Cape Town. I have coveted them ever since. It is bringing much joy and a touch of South African sun to the cold northern February
