US Tak Association<p>What's Tak, you ask? Great question! It's a two player abstract boardgame that's "simple in its rules, complex in its strategy". It plays like an ancient game, but it is actually rather new.</p><p>You see, Patrick Rothfuss first mentioned Tak in the pages of his fantasy novel, The Wise Man's Fear. People wanted to play the game in real life and so a collaboration was hatched between Rothfuss and celebrated game designer, James Ernest. There was a wildly successful Kickstarter, and people have been playing Tak ever since.</p><p>You don't need to have read the books to enjoy Tak. It's just a great game!</p><p>People play both competitively and for fun. You can usually find us at GenCon and Pax Unplugged. There is a Portable Tak Notation system for analyzing games. There are more than a few bots to play against. In short, there is a small but robust ecosystem to extend your enjoyment of the game! 2/🧵</p><p><a href="https://tabletop.social/tags/introduction" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>introduction</span></a> <a href="https://tabletop.social/tags/boardgames" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>boardgames</span></a> <a href="https://tabletop.social/tags/abstract" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>abstract</span></a> <a href="https://tabletop.social/tags/tak" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>tak</span></a> <a href="https://tabletop.social/tags/ustak" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ustak</span></a></p>
