@fairvote @paige @miki_lou First trial run of The Debunkenator at the uptown independent in #yellowknife today. Extremely effective at getting the kids attention and forcing their parents to stop and talk to me but I think I’ll have to keep some candy or trinkets on the table next week so the kids can win something other than facts about #proportionalrepresentation. Still fun though.

Here are some highlights from the #Snowking winter festival snow sculptures in #Yellowknife #NWT #Canada
Talented people come from all over the world, party like crazy, and create these incredible works of art. Each team of 3 or 4 carvers starts with a 1000 cubic foot block of hard sintered snow and creates what you see over the course of 4 days. This year was a little milder, but last year they were labouring away with the wind chill below -40°C! Amazing.

The #snowking winter festival almost upon us! Today, we will finish the final wall, then it's just a matter of carving and cleanup before the grand opening this Saturday. The ice slides are ready, the great hall is finished, & there are ten 1000 cubic foot snow blocks ready for the carving competition. This is the thirtieth year of the snow castle, & it all started when the Snow King saw his kids building a snow fort in the yard & decided that he would help out!
